Export-City Company from Prnjavor is an example of a successful family business. During 2018, it has continued expanding its production capacities. This year they constructed one more hall for the production of upholstered chairs with the total surface of 10,500 m2. Following this investment the company will own 19,000 m2.
Since its establishment and start of production in 2003, Export-City has constantly invested in construction of additional halls and expansion of capacities. In February 2009, they started with the production in own production plant with the surface of 1,560 m2.
The company was founded in Fojnica and started its first production there. However, only after 12 months due to better working conditions it was transferred to Prnjavor. In the beginning, the company had only five employees and currently as many as 252 employees. Following the move from Fojnica to Prnjavor in 2005, the company organised production in a rented space of 732 m2. Inadequate conditions for production, requirements from business partners, rent, plans and projection of development have made the company management construct own production facility which was started in 2008. This was followed by the construction of additional two production plants. In 2013, the Export-City company constructed a hall with surface of 4,300 m2 with production and storage space, while in 2016 it constructed the third hall with surface of 2,500 m2 with modern CNC machines for tailoring leather, textile and sponge. The total investment in the third hall amounted to BAM 2.2 million.
Data on export also show how successful the company is. In 2016, they accomplished export of BAM 20 million with 96% of finished products. Products are exported to Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden, while 90% of reproductive material is obtained in local market. In their facilities they have rounded-up process of production of upholstered chairs.
